open the live desktop and watch your agent work on its own screen as it happens. take control when you want to do something yourself, and hand it back. while you have control, it waits.
your agent has a real screen on its own computer, the one it opens websites and fills forms on. the live desktop is a window onto it. you can watch it work, and when you want to sign in to something yourself or finish a step by hand, you can take the controls. this page is how that works and where the edges are.
how do i watch?
open instaclaw.io/live. the dashboard connects you to your agent's desktop and you see what it sees: the browser it is using, the page it is on, the thing it is typing. it is the fastest way to answer "what is it doing right now" when an answer is taking a while.
nothing you do on that page is required. the agent works the same whether or not anyone is watching.
how do i take over?
press take control. two things happen: the desktop becomes yours to click and type in, and your agent pauses. it checks for your control before it acts, so it will not move the mouse out from under you or submit a form you were halfway through.
use it for the moments an agent should not do alone: signing in to a service with your own password, completing a two-factor prompt, or approving something on a page you want to see with your own eyes.
when you are done, press hand back. your agent picks up where it left off, on the desktop you left it.
what happens to my agent while i have control?
it waits. it does not run the next step of whatever it was doing, and it does not start anything new on that screen, until you hand back. if you leave the page without handing back, tell it in chat and it will resume:
i'm done on the desktop, carry on
what can i see, and who else can?
you see your agent's desktop, on your agent's machine, and only yours. the connection is made fresh each time you open the page, with a one-time key that expires. nobody else's dashboard can reach your agent's screen.
what this does not do
it is not a way to run your own programs on the machine, and it is not a second computer for you. it is a window onto your agent's work, with a hand-brake. if you want something installed or set up on the machine, ask your agent; that is its job, and it is the one with the shell.
