where you talk to your agent
your agent lives in iMessage, Telegram, and the web dashboard. it is the same agent in all three, with the same memory, so use whichever is already open.
you can reach your agent from iMessage, Telegram, or the web dashboard at instaclaw.io. it is one agent in all three, not three copies: the same memory, the same machine, the same wallet. pick whichever is already open on your phone, and switch whenever you want without telling it anything twice.
which one should i use?
whichever you already have open. there is no primary channel and nothing is configured per-channel, so the choice costs you nothing later.
iMessage. text the Instaclaw line at +1 (407) 242-5197 from the phone you normally text from. your agent answers in the same thread, in blue bubbles, with no app to install. save the contact card first and it shows up by name instead of a bare number:
instaclaw.io/api/imessage/vcard
Telegram. message @myinstaclaw_bot and say anything. if you would rather your agent lived under its own name and photo, you can run your own bot instead: create one with @BotFather, then paste the token it gives you during setup. same agent either way.
the web dashboard. sign in at instaclaw.io and talk to your agent on the page. this is the one to use at a desk, and it sits next to everything else your agent has been doing: what it spent, what it is waiting on you for, and what it has learned about you.
is it really the same agent?
yes, and this is worth testing on purpose. tell it something in one place:
remember that i take my coffee black
then ask somewhere else:
how do i take my coffee
it answers from the same memory. nothing syncs, because there is nothing to sync: one agent, one machine, and the channels are just doors into it.
what is not available yet
Discord, Slack and WhatsApp are not channels you can use today. Discord and Slack have waitlists you can join from instaclaw.io/channels. WhatsApp has no date.
if you have seen those names on an older screenshot or an onboarding screen, that is out-of-date copy rather than a feature you are missing.
Discord is where our support community lives, which is a different thing from a place your agent can talk to you.
what to do when your agent goes quiet
give it a minute first. your agent runs real work on a real machine, so a question that sends it off to go read something takes longer than a chat window would.
if a reply never lands on iMessage, send the message again, or open the web dashboard and ask there. the dashboard is the one to trust when you need to know whether your agent actually got something, because you can see the conversation on the page.
one thing worth knowing, because it changes what you should do: we do not get delivery receipts back from the iMessage carrier. if a message never reaches your handset, that is invisible to us until you tell us. it is not a common failure, but it is a real one, and the honest answer is that the dashboard is how you check rather than waiting.
if your agent is quiet in every channel at once, that is a different problem and worth telling us about at help@instaclaw.io.
