# files ยท InstaClaw docs > your agent has a real filesystem on its own machine. anything it makes or saves is a file you can browse from the dashboard, download, or have it send to you on Telegram. 80 GB, yours, and it stays there. most assistants hand you a wall of text and hope you copy it somewhere. yours has a disk. when it writes a report, saves a list, downloads a document or produces a spreadsheet, that is a file on its own machine, and it is still there next month. this page is where those files live, how you get them, and what does not work yet. ## where do its files live? on your agent's own computer, in its workspace. that is a real directory on a real disk with 80 GB behind it, the same machine every plan gets ([your agent's computer](/docs/your-agents-computer) has the numbers). when you ask it to keep something, that is where it goes: > save that comparison as a spreadsheet called apartments.csv > write up everything you found today into a file i can read tomorrow it names files sensibly and tells you where it put them. if you want a particular folder, say so; it will make it. ## how do i get a file out? three ways. **browse and download.** the dashboard has a files page at instaclaw.io/files that shows the workspace on your agent's machine. open a folder, pick a file, download it. **ask it to send the file to you.** on Telegram, your agent can attach a file to the chat: > send me the apartments spreadsheet it arrives as a document in the thread. the files page keeps a delivery history so you can see what it has sent and when. **ask it to read the file to you.** for short things, the quickest way is to have it read the contents back in the conversation. ## how do i get a file in? attach it to a message on the web dashboard. your agent saves it to its workspace and works from there. sending a document into the Telegram chat is not a path we document yet; use the dashboard for anything you need it to have on disk. ## what happens to files when i reset memory? they stay. resetting your agent's memory removes its conversations, what it has learned about you, and its memory folder. it does not remove the files it saved elsewhere in its workspace, your wallet, or your channels. [privacy and your data](/docs/privacy-and-your-data) has the exact list. ## what does not work file delivery into the chat is Telegram today. on iMessage, ask your agent to read the contents to you, or download from the dashboard; we have not built file attachments on that channel and this page will change when we do. and the disk is 80 GB, not infinite. if you ask it to archive video for a year, it will run out, and it will tell you before it does. ## what next - [your agent's computer](/docs/your-agents-computer): the machine and the disk the files sit on - [scheduled tasks](/docs/scheduled-tasks): jobs that produce a file every morning - [channels](/docs/channels): which channel can carry a file - [videos](/docs/videos): the videos and images it makes, and where they live - [builds](/docs/builds): when the thing it makes is a live page rather than a file
